Suparna is now a Certified Kinesio Taping Practitioner
We are so excited to announce that Suparna is now a Certified Kinesio Taping Practitioner. This is just another tool that Suparna and the Damany Center can use to help you heal and live life pain free…. which is always our ultimate goal.
What is Kinesio Taping?
This method is designed to help the body’s natural healing process. Not only does it allow support and stability to the muscles and the joints… it doesn’t restrict the body’s range of motion. So, as the Kinesio Tape is doing its job you continue living life and doing. Plus, this method extends soft tissue manipulation to heighten the benefits of the manual therapy we do at the Damany Center.
The following quote was taken from the Kinesio Taping brochure:
By targeting different receptors within the somatosensory system, the tape alleviates pain and facilitates lymphatic drainage by microscopically lifting the skin. This lifting affect forms convolutions in the skin thus increasing interstitial space and allowing for decreased inflammation.
Because Kinesio Tape can be left on for several days and up to a week this method offers benefits to the patient 24 hours a day…. significantly accelerating the healing process.
Benefits of Kinesio Taping
Pain Relief – reduces the need for prescription medication
Muscle Support – supports the muscle’s ability to contract
Joints – increases the range of motion in your joints and loosens your muscles.
Swelling Reduction - Kinesio tape promotes and improves blood and lymphatic circulation
It also re-educates the neuromuscular system, prevents further injury and promotes good circulation and healing.
So, as you can see Kinesio Taping is just another amazing tool that can be used to treat many injuries and ailments. We are thrilled that Suparna will be able to offer this method of treatment at the Damany Center effective immediately. She will be training and supervising the other therapists as well.
